Yarn Colour & Weight Guide

Yarn is a textile material, so very small natural and production-related variations can happen. These do not normally affect how the yarn performs, but we want you to know what to expect before ordering.

1. Colour may look slightly different in person

The yarn colour you receive may appear very slightly different from the product photos. Lighting, photography, and your phone or computer screen can all affect how a shade looks.

What to expect: the difference, if any, should be minor rather than a completely different colour.

2. Dye batches can have small shade variations

Yarn produced in different dye batches can sometimes have a very small shade difference because minor variation can occur during the dyeing process. Two batches may match perfectly, or there may be a subtle difference.

For larger projects: if you need several balls of the same colour for one project, we strongly recommend ordering the full required quantity together. Once one batch is sold out, the next batch may be slightly different in shade.

3. Ball weight can vary slightly

Our yarn balls are approximately 100g. Because the yarn is wound into balls by machine, individual balls can have a small weight variation and may generally fall around 90g–110g.

What to expect: this is a normal result of the winding process and does not mean the yarn is damaged or defective.

Quick summary

  • Product photos are a close colour reference, but very slight visual differences can occur.
  • Different dye batches may or may not have a subtle shade difference.
  • For one large project, order all required balls of the same colour together.
  • Yarn balls are approximately 100g, with normal machine-winding variation of around 90g–110g.
